Much nicer! Certain textures (like some rocks, etc) are much better when shot in black and white. You then get to visualize the textures involved and your eye is not taken in with false, misleading or inappropriate colours. The photograph then accurately represents the heart and soul of photogrpahy, textures and light. At least that's my opinion.
