I haven't seen anything like this before - it's interesting - where was it taken and do you know what it represents?

I took this yesterday here in Vancouver. It's in English Bay and it's been there since the 80's.
An Inukshuk is an inuit rock scuplture in the shape of a human. It's used to mark an area, like for navigation or respect. It's a very well-known image in Canada. You can purchase small ones at souvenir shops and it was even an image on one of our coins.
